![]() ![]() In the future, when you have perfected your technique and wish to wring that last little piece of quality out - then you can look into using RAW. It is insane for you to shot RAW at this point (unless you want to spend hours and hours in front of your computer) - RAW is a very technical issue that absolutely *requires* work (sometimes lots if it) on the computer. Fast forward to the 40D and Canon has basically given you the tools you need in pictures styles so that you do not need to use the computer - exactly what you are looking for. The intent was that these images were then processed on the computer to make them look "good". This was done to ensure that none of the highlights were blown out. ![]() In earlier models of DSLR's, say the 20D, the images straight out of the camera were dull, lacking saturation and contrast, whether JPEG or RAW. The picture "Styles" are certainly no gimmick - they are made exactly for people like you. ![]()
